Demurrage refers to the charges that a railroad, like TRRA, bills to industries for the amount of time the industry is in possession of a rail car. By tariff, if a car is placed at an industry after 7 AM on a given day, the industry gets the rest of that day and two additional days of free time during which to load or unload the car. After this time has expired, the railroad can bill for demurrage charges.

What is the history of the TRRA corporate logo?

In 1948 Mr. H. A. Brinkman, Night Forman at the 14th Street Shop won a companywide contest to select the first and only TRRA Logo.   The TRRA corporate logo is characterized by its distinctness, directness of message and suitability for application to equipment, structures, and stationery. The logo is a green target leaving the initials T.R.R.A surrounded by a silver or white band bearing the title, “Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis” in black letters, and having eight projecting arrows dividing a yellow shield to form a rosette shaped emblem.
